A three-day event has come to an end in London, the main goal of which is to draw attention to a wide range of luxurious brand goods — from jewelry to bespoke suits and supercars.
Despite the rather pretentious description of the mission of the London Concours, the main attention is focused on the cars placed on ideal English lawns. The main prize this year went to the Lotus Eleven LM50, the factory representative of Team Lotus, who raced in Rouen and Reims in 1957 with Herbert McKay-Fraser, who died driving this car in 1957. In addition to the «Best of Show», Lotus won in the «Great Brands» nomination, sponsored by the car manufacturer of the same name.
The judges, led by members of the London Concours Steering Committee, determined not only the winner in the main category, but also the winners in each of the following classes:
- Great marques: Porsche — Porsche 356 Carrera Coupe
- 200 Mph Club sponsored by Cover Car — Ferrari F40
- Italian Berlinettas sponsored by Moss Automotive — Maserati Ghibli
- The Young Timers — Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC Koenig Special
- The Kustom Klass sponsored by Vintage Hot Rod Association — 1941 Ford Coupe
- Lost Marques sponsored by Montres Breguet — AC Ace
- Chairman Award — Ferrari 250 SWB / Comptezione Sefac Hot Rod
Andrew Evans, London Concours director, said: “As ever I’m in absolutely no doubt that this astounding selection of vehicles is the greatest collection ever assembled within the City of London, it is always a genuine pleasure to be able to share these very special cars with the thousands of visitors that have made the effort to come along to the show. I’d also like to extend thanks to all of our partners for making the London Concours such a success».
