RM Sotheby’s returned to Monterey

As part of Monterey Car Week, a three-day RM Sotheby’s auction was held. More than 160 lots were put up for sale, 91% of which found new owners. Representatives of 34 countries took part in the auction, 20% of which participated for the first time.

The total value of sales was $ 148.5 million: 44 lots exceeded the 1 million mark, 16 lots — 3 million, 4 lots — 5 million. The main sales on the first and second days were associated with The Paul Andrews Estate Collection (34 439 000 $). Sales were topped by one of 19 1962 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato upgraded LHDs sold for $ 9,520,000.

 On the second and third lines are two Ferrari cars — Ferrari 268 SP 1962 by Fantuzzi and Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione (1966), sold for 7 705 000 each. The Ferrari 268 SP is one of six large 8V-powered cars built and the oldest sports car in the world with a similar engine. The Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione has climbed to the top of the motorsport podium three times between 1967 and 1969. — class winner at the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans, 1969 1000 KM of Spa-Francorchamps, and 1969 500 KM of Imola.

On the final day of the auction the majority of sales came from the Fox Collection. 8 out of 11 vehicles exceeded their pre-sales estimate. The most expensive car in the collection was one of two 2003 Ferrari Enzo cars in black and brown, which sold for $ 3,360,000. An equally impressive result was shown by the 2012 Lexus LFA N?rburgring — $ 1,600,000.
