Tonconogy: we were happy, we could have a comeback

The Mille Miglia race was held in Italy from June 17 to 21. The bronze medalists of the race were representatives of Argentina Juan Tonconogy/Barbara Ruffini. After the race, the pilot commented on the results of the race.

-You’ve returned to the top 3 at MM thia year. What was the most difficult thing compared to the last year?

-We were better prepared and more familiar with the car so we found less difficulties than last year !

-Was it easier psychologically this year compared to last year?

-Yes. Last year I haven’t been racing for many years. But now I was more in rhythm even though I raced last December only. And just one day race in Argentina

-This time Barbara spent a lot of time driving the car. Why did you make this decision? Did this make the race easier for you?

-Actually she drove a little bit during the first 2 days. The idea was not be too tired. But then Infelt that kept me out of Focus and then I drove 100%. It was better that way

-Did she drive a retro car before, or did she train specifically for the Mille Miglia?

-Yes, she drove sometimes before.

-The fight for the prize podium took place between your crew, Erejomovich/Llanos , Turelli/Turelli, Belometti/Ricca. Did you expect a fight for top 3 in such a situation?

It could be a fight among everyone, even Fontanella. We were happy, we could have a comeback and be near the 1st place although we didn’t start so well and had some big errors that prevented us of being fight for 1st. For sure it is a good trend after last years performance.
