Hope for this did not fade for a minute neither among fans of the retro rally, nor among the organizers, and now — it happened! The next, 13th in a row, competition will be held on August 29, as the press service of Franciacorta Historic reported just the day before yesterday.
This time, due to the precautions still in force, the retro rally will cover only one day, which is already good, given the situation in Europe and Italy in particular. The organizers in their press release also add that they are very grateful to their colleagues for the opportunity to hold Franciacorta Historic in August. The fact is that the Trofeo Noci Motor Classic competition, usually held at the same time, was postponed until next year, and the Trofeo Colline Moreniche organizers will hold their event the next day, August 30th. Thus, fans of retro cars, if desired, will be able to take part in two competitions at once, almost one after another.
As for the Franciacorta Historic itself, the crews will start in the Agriturismo Solive complex, located in the Corte Franca region (Brescia), and finish there, having covered a distance of approximately 145 kilometers.
From 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. local time, the participants will go through the procedure of registration and technical inspection of cars, at noon the first crew will leave for the distance, and at 16:30 the first participants will arrive at the final destination of the route. On their way there will be 45 regularities that will not be repeated, and 3 zones of time control. Awarding of the winners is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
We also add that on Monday, July 13, on the official website of Franciacorta Historic, registration for the event of 2020 is open, the application period will last until 0:00 on Monday, August 17 (Central European Time). We remind you that the defending champion is Andrea Belometti, who became the best with Doriano Vavassori onboard a 1929 Lancia Lambda 221 Spider Casaro (pictured above).
