Goodyear was founded

April 29, 1898 an American Frank Seiberling founded the «Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company». He named it after Charles Goodyear, the inventor of the rubber vulcanization process. Seiberling came up with a logo — flying sandals of Mercury, the god of trade. Initially, the company consisted of only 13 people and it was engaged in the production of bicycle tires, horse shoe linings and poker chips. And already in 1926 «Goodyear» became the largest tire company in the world. «Goodyear» specialists were the first in the world to develop tubeless, all-weather, off-road and winter studded tires, a high-speed tire with a speed index «Z» (up to 240 km/h). «Goodyear» provides tires for any equipment — from the «Apollo-14» lunar conveyor to mining trucks. The company is currently the third tire company in the world. «Goodyear» works on six continents and produces not only tires but also other rubber products and polymers. «Goodyear» includes such trademarks as «Dunlop», «Kelly», «Fulda», «Lee», «Sava» and «Debica».
