On July 4, 1914 Giuseppe (Nuccio) Bertone, a famous automotive designer, was born. His father was the owner of a small body shop, and Giuseppe began to join the family business at the age of 20 years. After the war, standing at the head of the company, Nuccio decided to turn the semi-handicraft workshop into a large modern enterprise. Having an excellent artistic taste, Bertone was also able to find talented designers and constructors. It was at Nuccio that the future stars of world car design such as Franco Scaglione, Giorgetto Giugiaro and Marcello Gandini began their ascent. Having no special education, Giuseppe left a drawing board for professional designers, while giving their pencil the right directions.

Here are just a few of the masterpieces of the Bertone studio that made his name famous: Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (1954), Lamborghini Miura (1966), Lamborghini Countach (1971), Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 (1973). Bertone designed the bodies not only for exclusive sports cars, but also for mass models like Daewoo Espero, Simca 1200S Coupe, Volvo 780 Coupe, Citroen Xantia, Berlingo, BX and many others.
