Andrea and Roberto Vesco lead the first day of «Mille Migli»

«The most beautiful road race in the world» (as the Italians themselves say) — Mille Miglia has started In Brescia.   356 crews went to the start of the autumn event, most of them defend colors of their national flag this year.

Despite the impressive number of crews at the start the struggle for leadership on the first day of the rally unfolded between the constant participants. One of the main contenders for the victory — Andrea and Alberto Vecso –drive Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Zagato (1929). In the middle of the day they inferior a little to their compatriots. Later they picked up speed and topped the standings with a 39 points advantage. Andrea and Alberto Vecso said after the finish at Cervia-Milano Marittima: «We are in the leading and hope to keep the lead». Following the family duo from Brescia, Gianmario Fontanella and Anna Maria Covelli in Lancia Lambda Casaro VII Series of 1927 took second place. Sergio Sisti and Anna.Gualandi closed the top three on the first day of the rally with a score of 13691 points.

 Women classification leaders — Silvia Marini and Francesca Ruggeri (1929, Bugatti T40) ranked 32nd — in the overall standings at the end of the first day of the competition.
