From 14 to 16 January in Italy for the 33rd time will be the retro rally «Winter Marathon». Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, 90 crews will take part in the event, including 4 previous winners: Andrea Belometti/Massimo Bettinsoli (2020), Guido Barcella/Ombretta Ghidotti (2019), Alberto Aliverti (2017), Franco Spagnoli (2016).
The event will also feature two-time world classic rally champion (1988-1989) and European rally champion in 1983 — Massimo Biasion in a 1968 Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce and Sky Sport F1 TV-presenter Davide Valssechi in a 1973 Fiat 124 Abarth Rally.
The total length of the route this year will be more than 500 kilometers, including 65 precision timed trials, 6 average tests (with a total of 18 detections), 8 time controls and 1 stamp control. In view of the possible avalanche, the organizers also provided for alternative options for one or more sections of the main route.
It should be added that on the start line we will also see the 2020 Franciacorta Historic winners — Edoardo Bellini/Roberto Tiberti onboard their victorious 1937 Fiat 508 C as well as Francesca Ruggeri accompanying his father Cesare driviing the 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III.
