Ferrari sales at Silverstone Auctions bids reach ? 2.3m

On June 5, at Sywell aerodrome Silverstone Auctions held an auction dedicated to the Ferrari brand. More than 130 lots went under the hammer, including 100 automobilia associated with the legendary Italian brand and 30 cars. The total sales value of the one-day auction reached ? 2.3 million.

The most expensive item turned out to be a 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO, which was sold for ?399,375. The two-seater sports coupe in the color Rosso Corsa, which means «Racing Red» in Italian, equipped with a six-liter V12, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.35 seconds. The braking distance at the speed of 100 km/h is 32.5 m.

The second place in the auction was taken by a 1974 Ferrari 246 Dino GTS with «Flares» right-hand steering wheel. The car, finished in the original Nocciola Metallizzato color, went under the hammer for ?388,125.

The top three at the end of the auction was closed by the 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT. A white two-seater coupe with red and black interior (seats with black accents) and red matching floor mats and right-hand drive was sold for ?277,875.

Among the best five ranks were also a 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GT (sold for ?213,750) and a 1971 Ferrari Dino 246 GT with ?202,500 as the final price.

We were delighted to see so many faces in our auction hall last Saturday as we safely welcomed back bidders into the room.
