The elegance in the Poltu Quatu style

Italy is once again turning into a center of attraction for luxurious vintage cars and more. On July 10-12 «Poltu Quatu Grand Hotel» located in the city of Costa Esmeralda will hold the 5th Concorso d’Eleganza.

For the third year in a row the Jury will be working under the presidence of Paolo Tumminelli, a well-known automotive historian who even impemented a special criteria system for evaluation of the «four-wheeled pearls» taking part in the concours. The panel of judges will be comlpiled of Fabrizio Giugiaro, who traditionally will be awarding the winner of the «Best of Show» category, the founder of «Auto Classic» (one of the associate sponsor of the event — editor’s note) and a Ferrari expert Luciano Bertolero, a FIVA representative Emmanuel Baquet and CEOs of three most powerful media of those writing about classic cars — Afshin Behnia («Petrolicious»), Alberto Vassalo («Car and Vintage») and J. Philips Rathgen («Classic Driver»).

In charge of giving their assessment to the participating cars will also be a large group of automotive «beau monde». Amonst them are director of «Ruoteclassiche» David Guidici, President of the Association of Classic Cars of Italy Alberto Scuro, the PR Director of the Italy’s largest website about vintage cars «Gare d’epoca» Enrico Renaldini, a journalist and President of Maserati Club Japan Shinichi Ekko, Head of RM Sotheby’s Europe Augustin Sabatie-Garat and, finally, a world-famous photographer and edition director of a newly formed magazine «Porsche Type 7» Ted Gushue.

The main showdown of the event is considered to be the display of prototypes from Giorgietto and Fabrizio Giugiaro (GFG) — GFG Vision 2030 and Bandini Dora, a fully electical car which stands for the symbol of revival of a great automotive Brand started by Ilario Bandini in 1946. Both the automobiles were to be first shown at Geneva Motor Show, but it was postponed.

The official website of the concours also reveals the list of the awards meant for the best cars’ owners. Thus, the winner of Concorso d’Eleganza Poltu Quatu 2020 will be given an exqusite «Eberhard» watch and a unique car cover made by Goodwool in accordance with the style and he appearance of the winning vehicle. And the most elegant woman found at the scene during the main exhibition will be awarded by Maison Sabbadini with their famous jewels in the form of a bee.

It needs to be added that the concours of 2019 was marked by the triumph of Ferrari whereas Alfa Romeo and Bugatti were crowned at previous editions. So, let us wait until July 12th to learn the name of the automobile atop the charts at Concorso d’Eleganza Poltu Quatu 2020.
