Yesterday, June 8, in Bundhorst Estate located in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, there was a big fire which took 120 units to extinguish it. Luckily no human casualties were registered, though, the extinguishers were met by a local worker of the hangar where, according to various sources, from 30 to 45 retro-automobiles were kept.

«Unfortunately, they now are just a heap of scrap metal», said to a German edition «NDR» the owner of the estate, Ingeborg Wandhoff. «But at the same time, I am glad that nobody suffered from the fire».

She also suggested that the flame from the stove might have caused the fire which immediately spread around the hangar. Its location complicated the work of the firemen, so it lead to the necessity of tearing the roof with the excavator ladle as the hangar was placed close to a power line and extinguishing the fire from up above could lead to even worse consequences. Right now the damage is rated a six-digit figure. No details are revealed by the edition as far as brands and models of the burnt oldtimers are concerned.

«NDR» also highlights that it was not the first big fire in Bundhorst Estate. In 2005 there was another one that destroyed an entire turkey farm with thousands of birds died in the flame. The bird-farming has stopped since then and separate buildings of the estate are used mostly as a holiday complex. And still Ingeborg Wandhoff is planning on building a new hangar at Bundhorst.
