Endurance Rally Association (ERA) has announced the dates of the next Peking to Paris event. So, the 8th rally will be held from May 28 to July 3, 2022. In total, the endurance competition will involve 110 crews which will be divided into 3 main classes:

  • «Pioneer»: cars manufactured before December, 1920;
  • «Vintage»: year of manufacture of the car — from January, 1921 to December, 1947 included;
  • «Classic»: cars produced in the period from January 1948 to December 1975.

The organizers also add that some of the classes can be divided into subclasses according to the volume of the car engine. At the moment, the list of participants has already been formed, but everyone can still apply and get on the waiting list. Right now for the 2022 Peking to Paris we have the representatives of 24 countries: Great Britain, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Slovakia, USA, Netherlands, France, Sri Lanka, Japan, Norway, Luxembourg, Ukraine, Ireland, Canada, Liechtenstein, Argentina, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Poland, Denmark and Mexico.

The winners of Peking to Paris 2019 in the «Classic» category, Jerry Crown and Matt Bryson, have already confirmed their participation. Like a year ago, the Australian crew will be trying to overcome the tests behind the wheel of a 1974 Leyland P76. As for the triumphants in “Vintage”, Graham and Marina Goodwin (Great Britain), they are not in the main list, and a Belgian Anton Gonnissen, who finished with his navigator Herman Gelan in Paris on the legendary 1906 Contal Mototri motorcycle, this time will drive a car. His partner in the duo onboard 1928 Bentley Speed will be his compatriot Inge Willemen.

It is worth saying that the rally route in 2022 will pass through the territories of China, Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Italy, San Marino, Switzerland and, finally, France. On average, according to the ERA, the crews will cover 400 kilometers per day, although other special stages will reach 650 kilometers.
