On August 14-15, RM Sotheby’s held another online auction, the total sales of which reached $ 30.4 million. Top sales were led by a 2001 Ferrari 550 GT1 Prodrive, which went under the hammer for $ 4,290,000. The car sold took part in 49 races, with 15 wins in various qualifications and 14 race victories, including the 24-hour marathon on the «Spa-Francorchamps» Circuit in 2004.

In addition to the Ferrari 550 GT1 Prodrive, a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB ($ 1,980,000) and a 1964 Ferrari 250 GT/L Berlinetta Lusso ($ 1,496,000) were in the top five at the online auction.

The slender row of Ferraris was broken by a 2014 Pagani Huayra. The car which is equipped with a 6-litre 730 hp V12 engine by Mercedes-AMG with twin turbocharging, went under the hammer for $ 1,848,000.

The top ten also included a pre-war 1932 Packard Deluxe Eight Individual Convertible Victoria by Dietrich, sold for $ 1,056,000.

Gord Duff, Global Head of Auctions, RM Sotheby’s, gave his summary on the event.

«The SHIFT/MONTEREY auction has been a phenomenal success for us. We’re proud to have grossed more than the combined sales totals achieved by our two nearest competitors during what would have been the Monterey Car Week, and to have set some amazing records along the way. It’s also fantastic to see cars from all eras featuring in the top ten results of this sale, proving that there is still robust demand across a broad cross-section of the market».
