The defending champions of Mille Miglia Roberto Vesco will not go to the start of the rally, which will take place in Italy from June 16-19. His son and three-time Mille Miglia winner Andrea Vesco commented on the situation to AutoClassicNews:
«Unfortunately my father suffers a physical problem and cannot race this year. Fabio is a friend and also is very experienced both in Mille Miglia and driving this car! Let’s hope to do a great job».
It is worth mentioning that Andrea Vesco will participate in a 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport Zagato, and his partner will be Fabio Salvinelli well known to retro-rally fans by his performance in the current season of the Italian Regularity Rally Championship.
We also remind that due to the restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers were forced to postpone the dates of the legendary race for the second year in a row. Last year, the «Red Arrow» rushed along the roads of the country in October.
