Before the start of the «Mille Miglia», we talked with the two – time winner of the «Red Arrow», Andrea Guerini, and he predicted a fight for victory between two crews-Vesco/Salvinelli and Moceri/Bonetti in the absence of 2018 winners Juan Tonconogy and Barbara Ruffini. But as often happens, anything can happen in multi-day races, and this thousand miles is no exception. Mocheri/Bonetti finished well outside the top ten due to technical problems.
Giovanni Moceri: «We tried no matter what, but we were not lucky. We had problems with the electrical system and, consequently, with the power supply of the car, however, thanks to the intervention of stellantis technicians, we were able to continue the race and arrive in Brescia, having completed all the planned tests, reducing losses to a minimum, maybe not always very accurately. Unfortunately, various stops related to repairs did not allow us to arrive on time at the time control in Prato and in Bologna, due to delays, we received a lot of penalty points.»
The 2019 winner also noted that this year’s race was very difficult from a technical point of view, and it was easy to make mistakes in it, so the standings fluctuated from test to test.
