The 27th Amelia Island Elegance Contest was held in the USA

The 27th Amelia Island Elegance Contest took place on the territory of the five-star Ritz-Carlton Hotel from March 3 to 6. An international panel of judges, consisting of 80 representatives from various countries, chose the winners in two categories — Best of show and Best in Show, Concours de Sport.

 This year’s Best of Show Elegance Grand Prize went to a 1934 Duesenberg Model J convertible coupe entered by Harry Yeaggy of Cincinnati, Ohio. From 1928 to 1937, the company produced 481 Model J cars, powered by a twin-cam eight-cylinder engine with a twin carburetor. (eight-cylinder engines with twin camshafts and equipped with factory-fitted dual Winfield carburetors)

 The 2017 Cadillac DPi-VR in the Jackson Collection in Elicott, Maryland won the Best of Sport award. The featured car, driven by a crew of two-time Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso, Jordan Taylor, Ranger van der Zanje and Kamui Kobayashi, won the 24 Hours of Daytona. in 2019.

As part of the event, the organizers announced the dates for next year’s Elegance Contest. Fans of vintage cars will be expected on the territory of the five-star Ritz-Carlton hotel and the golf club of Fr. Amelia from 2 to 5 March.
