Bugatti Type 57SC Atalante led the bidding of Gooding & Company in Monterey

As part of the Pebble Beach Elegance Competition, Gooding & Company auction was held on August 19-20. 154 cars and two motorcycles were put up for sale. 83% of the submitted lots have found new owners. The total amount of sales amounted to more than 109 million dollars.

The top sales were led by Bugatti Type 57SC Atalante (1937). One of the seventeen cars produced and perhaps the best of the extant ones was sold for 10, 345, 000.

In second place is the coupe of the first series of Ferrari 400 Superamerica (1961). The car, produced with an aluminum body in the color Nero Tropicale, Tobacco Connolly salon for Count Giovanni Volpi (Giovanni Volpi) was sold for $ 6 million.

One of the most successful prototypes in the history of Porsche, the Porsche RS Spyder Evo (2007), was completed by the new owner for 5,615, 000. It is noteworthy that the sold car was used by the Penske Racing team in the American Le Mans series in 2007-2008.

The top five at the end of the auction also included Ferrari F50 (1995) and Porsche 908/02 (1969)

Ferrari F50 previously owned by ex-world super heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was sold for 4,625,000. Porsche, which took part in the races at Brands Hatch, Nurburgring, as well as in Targa Florio, was sold for a record amount – 4,185,000 dollars.
